Hypnotherapy for the Mind, Body and Soul.
What is Hypnotherapy?
If you are new to hypnotherapy, you may wonder what it is, how it works or if it's safe.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is simply the use of hypnosis to assist in the change of behavior, of understanding, the release of emotion and old patterns, and to support the client with
incorporating new ways of being. It's a relaxed state which allows you to gain the knowledge you seek from your own deepest resources, the subconscious mind, or as I refer to that part, "your inner wisdom." In order to get powerful and lasting results from therapy, the inner wisdom must be reached.
According to Randall Churchill of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute,
"The subconscious houses the emotions, imagination, memory, habits, intuition and instincts. It also regulates our autonomic body functions, is the part of the mind that dreams...Meaningful personal transformation, whether in or out of therapy, results from a shift in the subconscious mind."
Hypnotherapists are taught to take a person into hypnosis, guide him through various processes, and bring the person back to conscious awareness at the end of the session.
Who can be Hypnotized?
Almost anyone can be hypnotized, because we enter into hypnosis at many times during the day while focusing on watching television, reading a book, as we begin to fall asleep while sitting in a comfortable chair, etc.

Additional Uses of Hypnotherapy
Randall Churchill also teaches:
"Hypnosis is used in areas such as chronic and acute pain control...It can be effective to improve confidence, concentration, recall, motivation, achievement, focus, health and stress management...overcome addictions, habits, eating disorders, insomnia, fears, phobias, negative thoughts, emotional and behavior patterns.
It can also tap people into the utilization of their full potential in endeavors like...public speaking...work, sports, art or creative expression...access to buried memories to find missing objects of value...hundreds of crimes have been solved by the use of forensic hypnosis."
Medical hypnotherapy helps relieve pain for arthritis, spine, headaches, injury, surgery, dental work, to name a few.
Many times our physical, mental or emotional problems cannot be helped by traditional psychotherapy or medical interventions. They can, however, be traced back to events that originated at an earlier time.
Using hypnotherapy the client accesses the most appropriate time and place to address any requests for information regarding their well-being and health. It can also access emotional blocks, misconceptions, and gain release from either or both.
How Am I Hypnotized?
Following required paperwork, the initial session is called an Intake. This is when you make known your needs and we clarify your treatment goals.
Actual hypnotherapy begins with relaxation. You close your eyes, focus on your breathing and the sound of my voice. Your body relaxes while your mind focuses inward.
Hypnotherapy is NOT
It is NOT stage hypnosis, i.e. quacking like a duck! Stage hypnosis gives a person the chance to perform on stage--to have fun. But, he will never do anything that is against his belief system.
What about Control? Will I Lose Control?
By working on issues using hypnotherapy which hinder your success in life, you will actually gain control.
Instead of losing consciousness during hypnosis, you will experience heightened consciousness!
"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase."
